Some venetian blinds have an extra slat or two at the bottom of the blind. Remove the bottom rail buttons and untie the lifting strings. Ends of cord are secured to underside of bottom rail. Venetian blinds are also known as aluminum blinds 2 blinds and horizontal blinds.

Look for the end of the cord where it is tied in a knot.
